BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Buffalo School District will only be able to honor a fraction of their student transfer requests this year. More than 2,000 students applied for transfers.
According to the new plan, only three to five hundred students would be transferred into schools in good standing, when school starts on September 5th. The plan ends up transferring 1,750 students in the third year.
Erie 1 BOCES would get involved by reaching out to Suburban School Districts on behalf of the Buffalo School System. Erie 1 BOCES is said to be more familiar with these suburban districts and how they operate.
Finally, Buffalo would create four schools in good standing. It would open two brand new schools using existing buildings.
