ERIE COUNTY,NY (WIVB) - New York State Police conducted a DWI saturation patrol after the Bills-Ravens game Sunday, making 214 traffic stops, issuing 116 traffic tickets including 5 DWI arrests and one DWAI/Drug arrest.
28-year old Patrick Sireika of West Seneca was stopped on Transit Road in Elma for excessive window tint and illegal license plate covers. He was found to be intoxicated and in possesion of marihuana. Troopers say his BAC was .14%. He was charged with DWI and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Sireika is scheduled to appear in Town of Elma Court at a later date.
Troopers stopped 21-year old Jason Jafari of Tonawanda on Transit Road in the Town of Lancaster for moving from a lane unsafely. Police say Jafari was intoxicated. He consented to a breath teast and was found to have a BAC of .12%. He was charged with DWI and is scheduled to appear in Lancaster Town Court.
28-year old Michelle Reiner of Batavia was stopped on the I-190 North in the City of Buffalo for speeding. Troopers found her to be intoxicated. A breath test administered by Troopers showed a BAC of .20% and Reiner was charged with Aggravated DWI because her BAC was over .18%. She is scheduled to answer the charges in City of Buffalo Court at a later date.
Robert Herron,48, of West Seneca was stopped on Transit Road in the Town of Elma for speeding. Troopers found him intoxicated. Herron refused a chemical test to determine his BAC. He was charged with DWI and is scheduled to appear in Town of Elma Court at a later date. In addition he will have to appear at a NYS DMV hearing for refusing a chemical test to determine his BAC.
26-year old Steven Pusateri, Jr., of Buffalo was stopped on Southwestern Blvd in the Town of Orchard Park after turning into Zebb's parking lot. State Police say he hit the curb and drove on to the front lawn. Troopers determined Pusateri was intoxicated and despite his refusal to take a BAC test, he was charged with DWI. He will have to appear in Town of Orchard Park Court at a future date. In addition he will have to appear at a NYS DMV hearing for refusing a chemical test to determine his BAC.
Bradley Hintze, 19, of Vestal,NY, was stopped on Route 20A in the Village of Warsaw for moving from lane unsafely. Troopers found Hintze to be under the influence of drugs and in possession of marihuana. He was charged with DWAI-Drugs and unlawful possession of marihuana. He is scheduled to face the charges in Village of Warsaw Court.
A Town of Tonawanda restaurant owner has been arrested and charged with strangulation and assault.
