ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - More than $4 million has been invested into Erie County parks over the last year.
On Wednesday, County Executive Mark Poloncarz joined local officials to show off improvements at Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park. The county has repaired roads and shelters across almost 10 county parks, beaches and golf courses.
"What we wanted to do was to ensure that we made our parks safer and enjoyable to all by investing in the infrastructure that unfortunately, for many years, had not seen any investment," Poloncarz said.
Officials plan to spend another $2.5 million on park improvements next year.
