OLEAN, N.Y. (WIVB) - Around 250 workers were forced to evacuate when fire broke out at a cutlery plant in the southern tier.
A knife polishing machine caught fire at the main administration and manufacturing building at the Cutco facility on East State Street in Olean shortly after 9 a.m. on Thursday.
The smoke was vented by a duct through the roof and firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 20 minutes. No one was hurt.
