BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - For years, their slogan has been, "Don't give me that bologna, give me Wardynski's!"
The Wardynski family has been making kielbasa and hot dogs on Buffalo's east side for almost 100 years. On Friday, Mayor Byron Brown declared it "The Wardynski Family Day" in the Queen City as they celebrated the company being operated by grandson, Skip Wardynski.
"As I stand in front of the brick that my grandfather actually brought with him from Poland, and it's standing there right in the wall still today. And I'm hoping we're around for another hundred years with the City of Buffalo," Skip said.
Wardynski's recently invented a new product-line for Tops Markets called "Duets," which is made of sausage and potatoes packed in the same casing.
