BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - He's made national headlines after being accused of beheadinghis wife in February.
Muzzammil Hassan appeared handcuffed in court for anothermotions hearing.
"We're going to set a date for early December," said JudgeThomas Franczyk, Erie County Court.
Hassan's attorney asked for more time to file required paperworkbefore the trial.
"A notice of any psychiatric evidence is supposed to be givenwith 30 days of arraignment," said Prosecutor Colleen CurtinGable.
Homicide prosecutor Colleen Curtin Gable says Hassan wasarraigned in March.
Defense attorney James Harrington avoided questions about thedelay.
In court, he said the issue was a transfer of funds from thedefendant for various psychiatric tests.
Meanwhile, the prosecution is ready for the set trial date ofJanuary 17th.
Hassan is accused of murder in the second degree.
That crime carried a sentence of 25 years to life.
