AUBURN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Queens, New York man who is currently housed at Auburn Correctional was arrested last week on two charges.
State Police say 44-year-old Gamalier Rivera was found to have an edged metal weapon with him in November, while in prison. He is charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Both charges are felonies.
Rivera was arraigned and will return to Wyoming County Court in the future.
According to state police, he is currently serving a sentence for second-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
