LOCKPORT, NY (WIVB) - The City of Lockport is cancelling the free Friday Labatt Canal Concert Series.
The Niagara Gazette is reporting that Mayor Michael Tucker says the city can no longer afford to fund the series.
The tab for the free shows is about $125,000 annually.
Lockport is facing a financial pinch and the Common Council is even discussing layoffs.
The free concert series was rolled out in 2008.
