SHELDON,NY (WIVB) - New York State Troopers arrested a Varysburg man and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated after a rollover accident in the Town of Sheldon Saturday night.
Troopers responded to a one vehicle roll over accident Route-20A near Humphrey Road in the Town of Sheldon and after investigation at the scene troopers later arrested 48-year-old Francis Wisniewski for DWI.
Police say Wisniewski had been east on 20A when he lost control of his vehicle and left the highway going off the north shoulder of the road, overturning before coming to rest upside down. He sustained a minor injury to his knee as a result of the accident and was transported from the scene to Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw by Varysburg Ambulance. While at the hospital he was placed under arrest and submitted to a blood test to determine his alcohol concentration.
Upon being released from the Hospital Wisniewski was processed at the Warsaw Station, and was later released on tickets for the DWI in addition to tickets for: Moving From Lane Unsafely, Operating a Vehicle Without Insurance and Operating With Improper Plates.
Wisniewski will face the charges in Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.
