ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A woman rescued a six-year-old girl from under water Sunday evening, in their backyard pool.
According to Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard, First Aid crews responded to a home in the Village of Alden for an unresponsive girl who was under water for some time, pulled out of the pool unresponsive and not breathing.
The woman was trained in CPR and after approximately a dozen rescue breaths, she was able to save the girl. She started to breath again on her own and regained consciousness.
Village of Alden Ambulance personnel evaluated the girl and she was taken to Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo for precautionary reasons.
