BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The storm moved out just in time for people to get into the spooky spirit.
Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said, "With the worst of the storm with the rain and wind conditions passing Buffalo at this time, Halloween trick or treating is still on in the City of Buffalo."
With that announcement it is game on for Halloween in the city. The mayor is asking that people abide by a cutoff time of 8 p.m. to end trick or treating. Adults and kids are ready to go despite the weather.
Reminder: Trick or treating has been postponed until Saturday in both Gowanda and Perrysburg.
Orchard Park resident Dan Nickerson said, "It's Buffalo. This is Buffalo weather. I've grown up here my whole life and so has she, and this is nothing."
If trick or treating isn't in your plans, and your looking for something a little scarier, a local haunted house may be right up your alley. Organizers of Dark Corners say it's the only large-scale house in Kenmore.
Organizer Kyle Mecca said, "Every single year we try to go bigger and better and now we've created this haunted house and that way we can spread our joy of scaring people."
The haunted house on Hamilton Boulevard in Kenmore has been collecting a fee to raise money for Women and Children's Hospital, but it is free to go through Wednesday night.
