BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) - NEXUS use is growing at a rapid rate at border crossings in western New York and southern Ontario.
The Buffalo and Fort Erie Bridge Authority and Niagara Bridge Commission report that NEXUS use accounts for 12 percent of all border crossings on the area's four international bridges.
The data shows that in the first half of 2012 NEXUS trips increased to 675,000 crossings in the region. That figure is up from 550,000 in the previous year.
NEXUS use at the Peace Bridge actually stands at 16 percent of overall crossings at that span.
