CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Investigators say a stabbing at a home on George Urban Boulevard near Harlem Road and Cheektowaga Town Park does not appear to be random.
Police were called to the scene around 11 p.m. on Monday after a man called 911 on his cell phone saying he had been attacked with a knife by an unknown male intruder wearing a ski mask, but had managed to fight him off and lock himself in the bathroom.
Officers arrived and found the victim in the bathroom, but were unable to locate the suspect. The victim suffered multiple serious stab wounds, but none are considered life threatening.
Detectives gathered evidence at the scene and the victim was taken to ECMC. Police say the motive remains unclear, but it appears this was a robbery and that it was not random.
