CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - New York State have released the name of the victim from Thursday’s fatal crash on I-90 in Cheektowaga. Police say 26-year-old Brenden C. Ballacchino, of Orchard Park, was struck and killed by a tractor trailer. Police say there were no other injuries.
Traffic was backed up on the I-90 East for miles Thursday, during rush hour, as cars were diverted onto the I-90 West around the accident scene.
There was also an accident around the same time on the I-90 West beyond Exit 52A, for William Street. That crash closed the left lane, but it was cleared long before the accident on the I-90 East.
State Police are asking that anyone with information about the incident, or any witnesses, call State Police Buffalo at 716-935-6570.
