NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - On Friday, State Police and State Parks Police managed to tackle a suicidal man before he plunged into the Niagara River.
Authorities were called to the Robert Moses Parkway in the City of Niagara Falls on reports of a man trying to commit suicide. While patrols were trying to locate the man, he ran right in front of a trooper's vehicle in a sprint to get to the railing leading to the river.
Officers quickly pursued and wrestled him to the ground as the man was in the process of climbing over the railing.
Once secured, the man was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
