LAKEVIEW, NY (WIVB) - Police canine units searched a cliff near the Lakeview home of trauma surgeon Dr. Timothy Jorden, sought in connection with the ECMC hospital shooting death of ex-girlfriend Jackie Wisniewski Wednesday morning.
The search began shortly before 11 a.m. on Thursday near the luxury home belonging to the doctor, which sits on the shore of Lake Erie. At least one thing that brought authorities back to the home for a second time is the report from a neighbor that he heard a gunshot around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, about an hour and a half after the fatal shooting at ECMC.
Jorden is the former U.S. Army weapons specialist who police have been searching for since Wednesday morning. That's when 33-year-old Wisniewski was found shot to death in a stairwell at ECMC where she and Jorden both worked.
Police say the 49-year-old Jorden may be armed and dangerous.
