DEPEW, N.Y. (WIVB) - The President made an unscheduled stop on his visit to Buffalo,picking up lunch at Duff's.
Duff's on Sheridan in Amherst had gotten a heads-up on Sunday,but no one expected the President to come to the Duff's on DickRoad in Depew.
The President was relaxed as he made his way into therestaurant. He greeted people, posed for pictures, and even kisseda baby. People found him to be taller than they expected and weresurprised to see him.
Mary DiGiacomo was the lucky waitress to take the President'sorder. Mary said, "Oh, I was a nervous wreck. I never shook so badtaking an order in all my life. Ten wings, medium, onion rings, andfries."
Duff's Manager Kaitlyn Feather said, "We weren't expecting itand we were totally crazy for lunch and he walks in the door andsomebody yells, "President Obama's here!" And everyone startsclapping."
The President even took out his wallet and paid for lunch, hewouldn't let it be on the house. A co-owner of Duff's tells News 4that the President absolutely insisted.
