BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Timothy Jorden Sr. lives a much different life than his son, Timothy Jorden Jr. did.
The 70-year-old has a tough time getting around his small east side home and was planning on going to the food bank before I knocked on his door.
Tim Sr. is still having a tough time coming to grips with the fact that his son was the gunman who murdered Jackie Wisniewski Wednesday morning at Erie County Medical Center.
"I was surprised," Jorden said. "I mean, Lord knows what was going on, but I didn't. I didn't expect that."
Tim Sr. watched, like the rest of us, while the nation-wide search was on for his son. He knew Tim's previous career as an Army Ranger and weapons specialist could have made the search for his son difficult.
"He was dong stuff for the country nobody knew about," Jorden explained. "I just said I don't know what he's going to do because if this is really Timmy, he can be gone if he wants to."
Police found Jorden Jr.'s body near his Lakeview home Friday morning after he committed suicide. Not long after his son's body was found, a sheriff's deputy came to tell Tim Sr. the news.
"I started crying and saying my prayers," Jorden said.
Tim Sr. said he never met Jackie Wisniewski, but has been thinking a great deal lately about her and her family.
"I know it hurts. And the baby, her baby, and he's got to grow up. Yeah, it's a hurting thing and we're saying prayers."
