RIDGEWAY, N.Y. (WIVB) - A two-vehicle crash in the Town of Ridgeway sent three people to the hospital Friday morning. An SUV traveling east on Ridge Road crossed the center line and collided with a pickup truck, causing the SUV to run off the roadway and overturn, according to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver of the SUV, 51-year-old Kelly P. Bailey, was trapped in the SUV for about 25 minutes before being extricated by firefighters. A Mercy Flight helicopter transported him to Strong Memorial Hospital. His front-seat passenger, 43-year-old James A. Groves, was taken to Medina Memorial Hospital. Both men are from Medina.
The pickup truck driver, 62-year-old Debra Albone-Gundrum, was taken to Medina Memorial Hospital. There is no word on her condition, or the condition of Bailey or Groves.
The sheriff’s office says the cause of the incident is under investigation. Witnesses say Bailey’s vehicle was operating erratically before the crash.
A Buffalo Police vehicle was involved in a two-car crash around 8:40 a.m. Monday. The crash happened at Bailey and LaSalle Avenues.
