BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A new synthetic turf athletic field is opening at Mulroy Park in South Buffalo. The Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Legacy Project announced the opening of Pierce Field Tuesday.
According to the Buffalo Bills, the field was made possibly by a $200,000 grant from the Buffalo Bills through the NFL Foundation and an NFL program that provides assistance in improving the quality, safety and accessibility of local football fields.
Buffalo Mayor Brown says the city provided $400,000 in capital funds for the infrastructure. “As part of my continued commitment to youth and parks in the City of Buffalo, I am excited to see this new $1.2 million turf field breathe new life into Mulroy Park, giving young athletes a safe and modern place to play."
