With the music and the Hawaiian themed shirts, customers will get a unique shopping experience at Trader Joe's at 1565 Niagara Falls Boulevard.
News 4 had an inside look at the most anticipated grocery story in the Buffalo area in a long time. Last year we got wind a Trader Joe's was coming to the area after the Kenmore Village Improvement Society fought to get one here. Friday it's opening in Amherst.
Store Captain Ken Gayten said, “I've had customers in the past how they've had a bad day, and then they leave with a big smile. That's kind of what we do on an every day, we sell great products at a great value, and you leave with a smile.”
Don't call Ken the store manager, or any other workers employees. They liked to be dubbed "crew members" and consider themselves traders on the high culinary seas.
Gayten said, “We have our sample station, our demo, and every day you should expect to have some type of sample there available.”
Trader Joe's carries an extensive array of domestic and imported foods. They also have more than 3,000 of their own labeled items. Each week the store says they will introduce about a dozen new items for customers to try.
