AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - One man was walking to work and the other was driving when police say the pedestrian was struck early Wednesday morning.
Amherst Police say 34-year-old Robert C. Frank of Buffalo was crossing the street at South Youngs Road near Wherle Drive at 6:20 a.m. when he was struck while in the southbound driving lane. Frank, who works for Ingram Micro, was taken to Erie County Medical Center with multiple injuries. He is listed in serious condition.
The driver has been identified as 55-year-old Russell Alaimo of Williamsville, who police say was driving to work for NFTA Transit Police. He was taken to Millard Suburban Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police ask anyone who witnessed the incident to call 689-1311.
