Buffalo, N.Y. (WIVB) - New York State Police say 14 cars were damaged from rocks Sunday night. Their windshields were smashed along I-190 in Buffalo. Troopers believe people were throwing the rocks.
The shoulder along the 190 Northbound, right near the exit for Route 198, had cars lined up for about a half-mile Sunday around 9 p.m. Windshields were shattered, and some other drivers had flat tires.
Victim Joe Montroy said, “I was just driving on the 190 and I saw a white flash across the windshield and a loud bang and I immediately knew I got hit by a rock.”
Victim Fred Rasmus said the boulder was “pretty big,” and added, “Just a big crash and there were several cars in front of me that were pulled over.”
State Police say one person suffered cuts to their face from broken glass, and a US Border Patrol vehicle was among those damaged by the rocks.
