ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - A violent weekend in Rochester left one dead, six injured. Police are investigating at least three separate shootings.
The deadly shooting happened early Sunday morning near a bar on the city’s west side. A 59 year old was shot in the torso and later died at Strong Hospital. Three others, a woman and two men, all in their twenties, were injured. All ended up at the hospital.
Police say reports came in of more than 20 shots fired. Bar manager Teddy Myers said, “Panic, start screaming and telling everyone to move away from the bar because I didn't have a clue about what was going on.”
Rochester Police don’t think the man who was killed was the intended target. So far this year there have been 23 homicides in Rochester. That’s according to the Democrat and Chronicle. There have been 23 homicides in Buffalo this year as well.
