ROCHESTER, NY (WIVB) - Wegmans is giving away prescriptions of the new generic version of the popular cholesterol drug Lipitor.
The grocery retailer will make the generic form of Lipitor, called Atorvastatin, available for free starting Sunday.
The plan applies to both new and refill prescriptions for Atorvastatin.
The offer will continue through April of next year.
At the same time, Wegmans will end a program of free generic oral antibiotics, but will move those drugs to its list of generic prescriptions available for $4.
