GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (AP) — Police are searching for a man they say fired into a suburban light fixture company where he'd once done business, leaving one employee there dead and another person wounded.
The search for 63-year-old Sang Ho Kim continued Thursday after police say he fled in a white SUV toward a nearby mall.
Nassau County police Chief Steven Skrynecki (skrah-NEHK'-ee) said Wednesday investigators don't believe the shooting was random and believe Kim may have been motivated by his association with the business.
Police say Kim once served as a vendor to the light fixture import firm located about 30 miles east of New York City.
Police have not released the names of the deceased or the wounded person.
A nearby mall, schools and businesses were temporarily locked down following the shooting.
