Weather Underground Forecast for Saturday, September 14, 2013.
Flooding will continue to be an issue in parts of the Great Basin and central Plains on Saturday, while cooler temperatures will affect the Northeast and parts of the Great Lakes region.
As a cold front makes its way off of the Atlantic coast, significant temperature changes will occur along the northeast Plains, as well as the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast U.S. This cold air mass will bring 10 to 20 degree temperature changes throughout the northern Midwest and into the Northeast. A second cold front will bring more wet weather to the northern Plains, the northern Ohio Valley, and parts of the northern Mississippi Valley by the end of the day on Saturday. Towards the Southeast, thunderstorms will be possible throughout the day in southern Florida.
Out West, flooding will continue to affect parts of the Great Basin and Rocky Mountains through Saturday. Thunderstorms will continue to produce flooding in New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and even as far as Montana.
In the Southwest, temperatures will remain warm, while cooler, more moist conditions can be expected in the Pacific Northwest. Showers will be possible from the coast of northern California to Washington as a low pressure system approaches the region.
Tropical Storm Ingrid will inch its way northwestward in the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday, but will have little affect on the U.S. The current forecast track has this system moving into Tampico, Mexico within the next 48 hours, keeping it well away from the Texas coast. Wave heights may increase a couple feet along southern Texas through Saturday. For more information on Tropical Storm Ingrid, please visit http://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/.
