A low pressure system will move southeastward through the Great Lakes on Sunday, which will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms to the Plains and parts of the Northeast. Southern Texas can also expect thunderstorms as a result of Hurricane Ingrid. The Great Basin and central Rockies will experience showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, which may trigger more flooding in the region. A low pressure system will also bring showers to the Pacific Northwest on Sunday.
A cold front will move into the Great Lakes region on Sunday, producing thunderstorms in the Ohio Valley, parts of the southern Great Lakes and even into the interior Northeast. This system will move through the Midwest through the majority of the day, but will begin to affect the Northeast in the evening. The Southeast will experience clear conditions due to a high pressure system, although southern Florida can expect thunderstorms throughout the day.
Southern Texas will feel the effects of Hurricane Ingrid on Sunday as it inches closer towards eastern Mexico. Although the system is centered several hundred miles south of Texas, the outermost showers and thunderstorms will reach the tip of the state. As a result of an approaching low pressure system, the Pacific Northwest will experience moderate rainfall throughout Sunday. This system may also bring showers to parts of northern California, while the Southwest will remain warm and dry.
