BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Buffalo Police and the FBI arrested a suspect in an online sexcrime case.
26-year-old Joseph Koehn of Esser Avenue in Buffalo is accusedof targeting a 4-year-old girl as a potential victim for thepurpose of forcing her to engage in sexual activity. Koehn has beencharged with: Attempted Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child,Attempted Rape in the 1st Degree and Attempted Criminal Sexual Actin the 1st Degree.
Police say the incident began to unfold on July 31st whenconcerned citizens contacted authorities after becoming aware thatthis individual was looking for a child to use in a pornographicfilm.
Through on-line computer conversations and text messages,authorities were able to determine that the suspect would pay moneyin exchange for the little girl.
On Wednesday night, August 12th at 11pm, at a West Sidelocation, a "meeting" was set-up between a police informant and thesuspect. A short time later, the suspect communicated with theinformant that he was leaving because he could see that theinformant didn’t have the child.
Authorities were able to track down the suspect near ElmwoodAvenue and Breckenridge shortly thereafter. Koehn was brought infor questioning and arrested early Thursday morning.
Detectives Jeffrey Rinaldo, Carmen Clark and Deborah Buyers ofthe Buffalo Police Sex Offense Squad led the investigation. Thearresting officers were Michael Laun and Christopher Mordino of DDistrict.

Koehn was arraigned Thursday afternoon in Buffalo City Court. Heis being held on Superior Court Bail and is scheduled for a felonyhearing on August 18th at 2pm.
An eight-year-old boy was shot Thursday morning in Cattaraugus County. Officials are at the scene on West Road, in Leon.
There is another Lake Effect Snow Warning in effect for Erie, Wyoming, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties from Thursday through early Friday.
