EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — U.S. House Speaker John Boehner is traveling to Indiana to speak at a fundraising luncheon for Republican Congressman Larry Bucshon (boo-SHAHN').
The event with Boehner is being held Friday at the American Patriot Group headquarters in Evansville. Company CEO Steven Chancellor is a major Republican Party donor.
Boehner's visit comes after he said this week he would support President Barack Obama on limited military action against Syria. Bucshon, meanwhile, tells the Evansville Courier & Press he will vote against the congressional resolution authorizing the strikes.
The Courier & Press and WFIE-TV report tickets for the luncheon range from $500 a couple to $2,600 a person.
Bucshon is in his second term representing southwestern Indiana's 8th congressional district.
