ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - For the first time in several weeks, Aaron Williams lined up at safety during practice for the Bills. With the Bills getting healthier at cornerback, it could signal that Williams is about to shift back to his full-time position, although Head Coach Doug Marrone was noncommittal today.
"He has the ability to play both for us," said Marrone.
Williams said it was not permanent, and for the time being he still has to think like a cornerback.
Marrone has said in the past, though, that Williams would eventually shift back to safety. With Stephon Gilmore shedding the club on his left hand today, and Ron Brooks getting healthy again, that shift could happen soon.
When it does happen, Williams says he would prefer to get a full week of practice reps to ease his transition.
"Definitely. I don't want to go in cold. I don't want to go in like I did at cornerback against the Jets," said Williams.
