CANTON, OH (WIVB) - Maybe this is the year that Andre Reed finally gets into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The former Bills receiver's chances stayed alive on Saturday, when he was included in the list of 15 finalists.
Reed will find out when the voting occurs the Saturday before the Super Bowl in February.
Reed made the final ten last year, but was not one of the five players selected for induction. He did finish in the top ten of the voting, ahead of any other wide receivers. This year, he is pitted against two other wideouts. Cris Carter and Tim Brown were both on the list of finalists last year also. There are only three wide receivers among the list of 15 finalists. Reed's 951 catches are the most in Buffalo history.
The list includes Jerome Bettis, Bill Parcells, Charles Haley and Aeneas Williams.
Bills special teams ace Steve Tasker did not make the list of 15 finalists. He was the only other Buffalo Bill on the semifinalist list.
