PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Bills cut ties with injured tight end Mike Caussin Wednesday, signing linebacker Jamaal Westerman to take his spot on the roster.
Caussin has missed much of training camp with a hip injury. He did not suit up for a game last year, finishing the season on Injured Reserve after struggling to come back from ACL surgery. The Bills gave him the waived/injured designation, meaning they will either reach an injury settlement or place him on Injured Reserve, if no other team claims him.
Westerman is a familiar face for Defensive Coordinator Mike Pettine. He played for Pettine with the Jets, spending three years with New York before making stops in Arizona and Indianapolis last year.
Westerman will wear number 93 for the Bills.
