ORCHARD PARK, NY (WIVB) - In the wide open battle for receiver spots, Chad Jackson is onename that's flying under the radar for Bills fans. But if theformer 2nd round draft pick can make it, it will be a true comebackstory. With no clear starter opposite Lee Evans, it mightjust happen.
Jackson battled injuries during his brief career, which startedas a high pick by the Patriots in 2006. He played 12 gameswith 13 catches that season, but just two games with no catches in2007. Tired of the injuries, New England released Jacksonbefore the 2008 season. He played four games with one catchin Denver, but spent the 2009 season out of football.
Now, he's hoping to finally make his mark with the Bills.
"Its been real hard being a high draft pick just living up tothe expectations, its been hard," Jackson said after Sunday'sminicamp practice, "RIght now I'm trying to start over and this isa great organization."
Jackson is battling James Hardy, Steve Johnson, Roscoe Parrishand a host of other rookie wideouts. He thinks if he workshard and doesn't take a position for granted, he'll be able tocontribute in 2010. At 6-1 and 223 pounds, the former FloridaGator brings good size and speed to the receiver group.
"This might be the best I've ever felt in a long time, since Icame out of college."
