ORCHARD PARK, NY (AP) - The Buffalo Bills are down to two quarterbacks after releasing Thaddeus Lewis.
Lewis was one of five players cut Saturday. The Bills acquired Lewis last weekend in a trade with Detroit, a day after veteran Kevin Kolb sustained a concussion. Kolb was placed on injured reserve and Matt Leinart was released Friday.
That leaves Buffalo with rookie first-round pick EJ Manuel and undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel at quarterback. Manuel is recovering from a left knee injury, and it's unclear if he'll be ready for the opener against New England next weekend.
The Bills also released veteran linebacker Bryan Scott and defensive linemen Torrell Troup, Jamie Blatnick and Izaan Cross.
The moves leave Buffalo with three open roster spots.
