ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Bills are freshening up their depth at several positions this week. One day after bringing in a new offensive lineman, Buffalo also replaced players at linebacker at cornerback.
Buffalo signed LB Ty Powell and promoted CB Brandon Smith from the practice squad.
Powell had been a member of the Giants' practice squad. He was a 7th-round draft pick by the Seahawks this year. Smith, an Arizona State product, had brief stints with Carolina, Green Bay, and Seattle.
To make room, the Bills released LB Marcus Dowtin and CB Johnny Adams.
Buffalo also signed QB Dennis Dixon to the practice squad, after working him out over the weekend. Dixon, who starred at Oregon in college before an injury derailed his final season, started three games with the Steelers earlier in his career.
