RALEIGH, N.C. (WIVB) - Former Sabres forward Nathan Gerbe signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes, joining the team on a two-way deal.
Gerbe is guaranteed at least $250,000 in the deal. If he makes the NHL roster, he will earn $550,000. He would earn a $150,000 salary in the minors.
Gerbe had five goals and five assists with Buffalo last season.
The Sabres released him earlier this month.
