PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WIVB) - Coming off a solid rookie season, cornerback Stephon Gilmore could be on the verge of joining the league's elite at that position.
"Here's a guy that is really good, and wants to be great," said Bills Defensive Coordinator Mike Pettine. "He doesn't want a ball caught on him in walk-through, let alone in practice."
Gilmore will turn 23 years old next month, but in a young secondary he has already taken over a leadership role.
"It's a role that I want to play," said Gilmore. "I'm going to go out and try to lead by example every day, and try to do my job to the best of my ability."
Gilmore and the Bills host Minnesota Friday night in preseason game number two.
