On Monday, Canisius High School's Qadree Ollison announced his verbal commitment to the University of Pittsburgh. Ollison is Canisius' most decorated running back, owning school record in rushing yards, touchdowns and points in a season. It's no surprised that he was a highly-coveted recruit.
Before Ollison officially made his announcement, he took a moment to thank his father. According to Ollison, his father Wayne has been there every step of the way. Wayne provided his child with guidance, football tips and resources that would helped his son develop . Qadree deserves all the praise in the world for his achievements. However, it must be noted that it was his father who laid down a strong foundation that allowed the running back to build an impressive resume.
Similar to Qadree, my parents have played an instrumental role in my life and my career. While parents tend to take little to no credit for their children's achievements, it's often the case that a child's success is just as much their parents' as it is their own.
