(WIVB) - Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta is facing another suspension, after a hit during Thursday night's loss to Columbus.
The NHL requested an in-person hearing, meaning the suspension could last longer than five games. He is suspended pending the outcome of that hearing - which will take place this Tuesday.
From the NHL: "At 3:10 of the first period, Kaleta collided with Columbus defenseman Jack Johnson near the boards just inside the Buffalo zone. No penalty was assessed for that hit, but Kaleta received a fighting major after engaging with the Blue Jackets' Jared Boll after the hit."
Buffalo visits the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday night, which will be the first game of Kaleta's suspension.
