NEW YORK (WIVB) - Patrick Kaleta was handed a 10-game suspension, without pay, on Tuesday for his check to the head on Jack Johnson during the Sabres game against the Blue Jackets on October 10.
The Sabres forward will lose $152,439 in salary, which will go to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
The suspension is retroactive, therefore Tuesday night's game against the Islanders is the third game served in the 10-game suspension.
Kaleta is eligible to return November 2 against Anaheim.
