BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A couple extra details have emerged from Sunday's blockbuster trade, which sent Thomas Vanek to the Islanders in exchange for a pair of draft picks and Matt Moulson.
The Sabres picked up a portion of Vanek's salary, 19.5 percent.
In addition, TSN is reporting the Islanders could end up keeping the 2014 first round draft pick if it among the top ten. If they choose to hang on to the pick, the Sabres would instead get New York's 2015 first round pick.
Moulson scored two goals in his Sabres debut Monday night. Vanek is making his first appearance with the Islanders tonight against the Rangers.
