PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WIVB) - Nearly 90 players were on the field for the Bills this afternoon, but Mario Williams was not among them as Bills training camp hit day two.
Williams was off-campus having his sore foot evaluated by team doctors.
"It's really the same thing. His foot was sore," said Head Coach Doug Marrone. "We're not going to make any mistakes... We're going to make sure that everything's fine."
As for the players who were on the field, much of the focus was on the quarterbacks once again. Kevin Kolb took the majority of the first-team reps for the second day in a row, although rookie E.J. Manuel did see some time with the starters.
Because of Kolb seeing more time with the starters, he is also seeing more blitzes from the defense.
"We'll bring in E.J. and gave him a little more reps today, but we're careful with what we're showing him," said Marrone. "E.J. is in a pretty decent position. We throw Kevin out there and Kevin's going in there and seeing everything for the first time, and E.J. is able to sit back there and look at it."
"Now we've got to start stepping him up in those situations, too," said Marrone.
The Bills hit the field for the first early-morning practice of training camp Tuesday at 8:10am.
