BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Ex-Sabres captain Jason Pominville is back in Buffalo tonight - this time as a member of the visiting team.
Pominville and the Minnesota Wild will take on the Sabres tonight at First Niagara Center, marking the first time he will face off against his former team.
"Coming in through the door, the same door you usually go in, and having to go left instead of go right to the locker room was a little different, but it's good to be back. A lot of good times, a lot of good memories. Just excited to get the game going," said Pominville.
He says he holds no ill will toward the Sabres for trading him away at last season's trade deadline. As for his friends who are still on the roster, despite the rebuilding process, he feels for them.
"It's going to be a learning process for a lot of them, but I think for the guys who have been here for a while and the guys you really get to know... it's got to be tough for them, and I feel bad for them for sure," said Pominville.
The Sabres take on Pominville and the Wild tonight at 7:30pm.
