According to multiple reports, long-time Niagara University men's basketball coach Joe Mihalich is leaving the Purple Eagles to coach Hofstra.
Mihalich spent the last 15 seasons with Niagara, winning a MAAC-record 265 games.
He guided the Purple Eagles to a regular-season MAAC championship this year, earning league Coach of the Year honors in the process.
Niagara's roster should be well-stocked for his replacement, with the majority of the team's scoring coming from either sophomores or freshmen last season.
Hofstra, on the other hand, will be a rebuilding job for Mihalich. The team won just seven games this year, and also had four players on the roster get arrested.
Hofstra is expected to introduce Mihalich Wednesday.
