BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Buffalo Sabres signed center Cody Hodgson to a new six-year contract Wednesday night, just in time for Thursday's first practice of training camp.
Hodgson was a restricted free agent. Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier said earlier in the day he had spoken with Hodgson's agent about both short-term and long-term possibilities.
"Cody is a player that will continue to get better," said Regier. "He's a very hard-working committed individual and athlete, and that's someone we'd like to have around for a long time."
Thursday's practice sessions are open to the public at First Niagara Center. The schedule is as follows:
Session One: 8:45-9:45
Session Two: 10-10:45
Session Three: 12:15-1:00
