BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The scoring-challenged Sabres struggled to find the net yet again in a 2-1 loss to Winnipeg Monday night.
The loss spoiled a solid night for Buffalo's backup goalie, Jhonas Enroth, who turned away 37 shots - including a save on a first-period penalty shot.
Winnipeg's Ondrej Pavelec was solid as well, registering 24 saves.
Buffalo's lone goal came on Thomas Vanek's power play strike. The goal moved Vanek into sixth place on the franchise's all-time goals list with 248, passing Mike Foligno.
Vanek nearly had another, but Pavelec came up with a big glove save late in the game to help preserve the win.
Aaron Gagnon and Antti Miettinen scored for Winnipeg.
