NEW YORK (WIVB) - Sabres enforcer John Scott will serve a seven-game suspension for an illegal check to the head last week on Boston's Loui Eriksson.
Scott has already served three of the seven games, with a fourth coming tonight against the New York Rangers.
He had an in-person hearing with the league today, signaling a suspension lasting more than five games.
In the NHL's explanation of the suspension, the league said Scott targeted the head, which caused Eriksson to be injured. The NHL also took into account the fact that Scott had never been suspended in his career, to settle on the final number.
