NORTH COLLINS, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police are trying to determine whether a suspect now in custody is responsible for a recent spree of smash-and-grab burglaries that stretched into the southtowns.

Joshua Bish, 24, of West Seneca and Alexis Andrews, 21, of Angola are being held in the Erie County Holding Center after being arrested for the smash-and-grab burglary of Shelly's Convenience Store in North Collins.
Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard said, "Checks in the area [and] the direction which they fled revealed another witness who had seen a red car turn around in the driveway, and checking the driveway they found a rock that was very similar in size to the rock that was in the store."
Around 2 a.m., Buffalo Police spotted a red car matching the vehicle used in the burglary and stopped the driver at Sycamore and Howlett.
"A red vehicle with a man and a woman and the cigarettes and lottery tickets observed in plain view of the vehicle," Sheriff Howard said.
Cigarettes and lottery tickets were also the only things taken Sunday morning from a Sunoco Station in Amherst. A man fitting the general description of Joshua Bish was caught on a security camera walking up to the store and waiting until no cars are passing by on Millersport before throwing a large landscaping rock through the front doors, and breaking the glass out to make his way inside.
Now Amherst, West Seneca and Hamburg police are trying to figure out if Bish is responsible for smash-and-grab burglaries in their towns just this week.
Sheriff Howard said, "Using a rock, it's not all that uncommon, but the uniqueness of the type of property that was stolen cigarettes and lottery tickets was the targeted property in all the others ones."
Bish has faced numerous drug and burglary charges in the past, and just got out of jail in July.
He and Andrews are now facing felony charges of burglary and grand larceny.
