BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - For more than three decades, there has been talk about making major changes to the Peace Bridge Plaza on Buffalo's west side.
Now officials may be on the verge of getting something done. The State Department of Transportation welcomed the public to the Connecticut Street Armory Tuesday night to show off plans for a new ramp that would directly connect the U.S. plaza to the northbound 190.
Peace Bridge Plaza projects manager Maria Lehman said, "When we do that, and we do a reconnection of Porter Avenue to the Peace Bridge, we can take interstate traffic out of the park, out of local streets and onto the interstate directly."
